IBD Awareness

New Blog Title!

Today is a big day! I started this blog in 2018 as a way to record my study abroad experiences. In 2021, I rebranded my blog to share my journey with ulcerative colitis. I made my website generic on purpose. I didn’t know if I was going to continue blogging indefinitely or if it would even be successful. I really didn’t expect to love it so much.

Over the years, not only has this blog turned into an outlet for me to share my journey with IBD, but it has strengthened by belief that we must raise awareness for these invisible diseases. I deal with the mental, emotional, and physical side effects of ulcerative colitis on a daily basis, and I know others do too. I still stand strong in the idea that community can heal.

My journey has come full circle from when I took that personal branding class in my MBA program. Now, I teach the class and get to share my love of writing with my students. They continue to teach me how I can make my own brand better and have given me the courage to do something I have been putting off for so long. Renaming my website.

I hope that by making this change, I can bring a little bit of laughter to those suffering with IBD. Poop is kind of funny after all. But I also hope this shows others that my main goal is, and always will be, to continue raising awareness of Inflammatory Bowel Disease specifically. This is the first step of many that I want to make on my personal branding journey and I am excited to see what the future holds. Thanks for reading along.
