This year, members of my support group and I are participating in the Las Vegas Take Steps fundraiser to help find cures for IBD. Take Steps is an annual fundraiser walk organized by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. This is our first time participating as a team from Northern Nevada and our team goal is to raise $1,000 by April 26th, with each of us committed to raising $250. Every dollar raised accelerates breakthroughs in IBD research, delivers trusted resources, and improves care for millions.

Please consider donating or joining our team and help us reach our $1,000 goal!
Why should you get involved?
As an IBD patient, the support I’ve received from the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation has been instrumental in my journey. I first got connected with the Foundation in 2019 when I attended a conference at UC Berkeley with other patients and GI doctors. There was limited support in Reno at the time, which prompted me to start a support group in Northern Nevada. We’ve been going strong since 2020 and built a little community of IBD warriors that I am forever grateful for.
When you are first diagnosed with a chronic illness like IBD, no one tells you how isolating it can feel, but the Foundation has always been there when I needed them most. This is why I believe community is one of the most important pieces of managing chronic illness. And this Take Steps walk provides you with just that. I am so excited to surround myself with family, friends, patients, doctors, and nurses who understand the fight against IBD and are committed to making a difference – whether that is through a donation or simply just being present.
Please share with your networks and join us in the fight to find a cure for IBD! Every dollar makes a difference!
