In partnership with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Nevada Chapter, my committee and I have launched our first-ever Valentine’s Day fundraising campaign!
While I have done a few fundraisers for the Foundation in the past, this one is particularly special because it marks the start of engagement in the Northern Nevada region. The Gut Warriors of Northern Nevada, as we like to call ourselves, have put together this campaign in the hopes that we can host larger fundraising events in the future and build a stronger connection with our southern counterparts in Las Vegas.
Eighty cents of every dollar raised for this fundraiser go directly to the Foundation in helping support research efforts, advocacy for patients, programming, education, and policy changes in the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) field. As an IBD warrior, funding these efforts is extremely important to me and something I am passionate about, as I would like to see a cure for this disease in my lifetime – and I think it’s possible with your help. Another one of our goals is to raise more awareness of these diseases and how they affect our family, friends, coworkers, etc. There are still quite a bit of improvements that can be made in the IBD field in Nevada, specifically in access to healthcare and specialists.
