This year was a tough one for me. I had a lot of great highs and some really bad lows. I was a little nervous to look back at the goals I wrote for myself for 2023 because I couldn’t even remember what I wrote. Turns out, I was successful with quite a few of them.

I definitely did try something new this year – lagree – which has been keeping me in tip top shape. This bled into listening to my body and making sure I’m moving my body each day in a way that feels comfortable. I also opened up my heart this year. It didn’t go in my favor, but I’m really proud of myself for taking this step as it was difficult for me. This year, I discovered how to find my voice. I learned how to stand up for myself, state what I want and need, and set boundaries – even if that meant losing a few people along the way.
I also started teaching this year which was totally outside my comfort zone, but a great challenge for me. I’m so glad I did because it helped me discover my love for sharing knowledge and that making mistakes is okay. It’s not a secret that I am a planner and a perfectionist. When I commit to something, I put my all into it. I made a lot of mistakes my first semester teaching, but I strangely became okay with giving myself some grace. It helped me learn and grow even more than I thought I could.
As I sat down to write my goals for 2024, I couldn’t really think of anything. So this year, I would like to do something a little different. This year, I won’t have any tangible goals. My only goal is to live my life without asking for permission. I know the next logical steps I should be taking in my life, but I prefer not to put any more pressure on that. If I had one intention for 2024, it would be to heal. Heal my relationship with myself and give myself more credit for where I’m at. I never thought I would say this, but I’m looking forward to change in 2024.
I hope everyone has a happy and healthy new year! Thank you for reading along for another year – I appreciate this community more than you know.
