Santiago, Chile

ETN Focus - ETN Focus

Santiago is the capital of Chile and is situated directly in the middle of the country. Chile is located in South America and is the longest country in the world. It has a very diverse climate ranging from the Atacama Desert in the north (the driest desert in the world) to Patagonia in the south where penguins can be found living on icebergs. Santiago is surrounded by the Andes mountains which makes for great skiing and hiking, but also very cold winters. The city is only about an hour away from Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, both port towns with lively nightlife and beautiful beach views.

Santiago has been the most culturally diverse place I have visited in the world, which has made it one of the most memorable. If you find yourself in South America, make a quick detour to Santiago and explore the many attractions. You will never find yourself being bored in a city like this.
